What advantages does a Blücher shoe have over an Oxford?

We've all heard the distinction between an oxford shoe and a blücher shoe at some point , but do you know what it really means?

To understand this issue we first have to understand the difference in shoe cut.

An Oxford shoe, like our Doñana model, has a closed lacing system, in which the cheek piece is completely sewn to the instep, giving a sense of continuity and elegance to the shoe's construction.

When we compare it, however, with our Cedro model , we see a clear difference in construction, since in this case the cheek piece is not sewn to the instep, but rather separated, allowing for greater opening and release in the instep area.

This is why, for people with more pronounced insteps (insert link to article - What type of shoes are suitable for my foot?) , it is advisable to use footwear with blücher construction , as this will allow for greater comfort, especially when putting on and taking off shoes (insert link to product - Shoe horns) .

In terms of formality, a blücher shoe would rarely reach the formality of an oxford shoe , which is recognized worldwide as the formal shoe par excellence, especially if it is its variants in shiny black leather with Goodyear welt, which remains number one for the gentleman who seeks to be irreproachable.
